The schools are back already in Scotland but for England, Wales and Northern Ireland, there’s the August Bank Holiday Weekend to look forward to.
It’s too far away to say precisely how the weather will shape up for the rest of the month especially as conditions could be influenced by Hurricane Ernesto which is currently sweeping towards Bermuda. The area of high pressure keeping us dry and sunny will probably move southwards, with low pressure developing to the north and the west of the UK.
That would mean more unsettled conditions for many heading into the final weekend of August making it wet and windy at times in the north-west with the driest conditions further south and east.
