Leukaemia: Racehorse Kitty’s Light brings joy to girl’s treatment

The family of a young girl who has battled leukaemia since the age of five have described how they were able to find joy through their champion racehorse, Kitty’s Light.

Betsy, now aged 7, was hospitalised in February 2023 after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL).

But just six weeks into her treatment, a racehorse trained by her dad won the Scottish Grand National, which allowed her family to experience happiness in the darkest of times.

“I never thought I would have the strength to do this,” said her mum Charlotte.
